Achievements: He was the speaker of the First Dail Eireann, 1919-21
Represented Ireland in World War One Peace Conference, Paris, 1919.

Eamon De Valera (FF) 1959 – 1973

Early career: Professor of Maths
Achievements: Joined Irish Volunteers in 1913. Occupied Bolands Mills as part of the 1916 Rising. Escaped execution due to American Citizenship but was inprisoned until 1917. Opposed the treaty during the Civil War 1922-23. Founded Fianna Fail in 1926 and becoming head of Government in 1932, first Taoiseach in 1937 -1948. President of the Council of the League of Nations at its 68th and Special Sessions, September and October 1932 and President of the Assembly of the League of Nations, 1938. Served as Taoiseach in 11951 – 1954, 1957-1959. Died 29th August 1975.
Erskine Childers (FF) 1973-1974
Born: 11th of December 1905, London England
Early Career: advertising manager for Newspaper Secretary for the Federation of Irissh Manufacturers
Achievements: Became TD in 1938 for Fianna Fail.Served as Minister in various Governments and as Tanaiste from 11969 – 1973
Died in office 17th November 1974.
William T Cosgrave (FG) 1922-1932
Born: 6th June 1880, Dublin
Early Career: Publican
Career Highlights: First President of the Executive Council of the Irish Free State. During the existence of the Irish Free State (1922-1937) the Head of the Government was known as the President of the Executive.
Achievements: A member of the Irish Volunteers he fought in the 1916 Rising. Elected as a Sinn Fein MP for Kilkenny, he was the first Minister for Local Government in 11919 before becoming leader of Cumann na nGaelhael Government
